Weekly Reflection Scriptures: Isaiah 11: 1-10, Isaiah 40, and Luke 2:1-7

This is a week of peace and preparation. This purple candle is sometimes called the “Bethlehem Candle” as a reminder of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the Holy family experience in Bethlehem.

As we prepare for the coming of our savior, we lean on the Holy Spirit to guide us through the preparation process. The preparation process isn’t meant to be stressful, it's meant to lead us to a new sense of peace. The renewed peace is grounded in our faith that God will manifest Godself through the birth of Jesus, symbolizing God’s willingness to step out of eternity into time to meet us where we are in our human condition.
