OUR CHARTER MEMBERS
Antioch Baptist Church was founded on September 12, 1959 by Rev. Cecil Lawrence Potter. Antioch Baptist Church was named from the scripture Acts 11:26 that says “The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.”
Eleven dedicated Christians stood by Rev. Potter and on Sunday, September 12, 1959 the first church service was held.
Today we honor and celebrate the legacy of our founding members, their faith and dedication to Antioch Baptist Church and the community it serves. We take this time to call the names of our founding members in appreciation of their service.
