Rev. Emmanuel Lee Collier Sr.

Sr. Pastor - First Baptist Mohawk Church

Rev. Emanuel Lee Collier Sr. hails from the humble yet rich spiritual roots of Hammond, Louisiana, where he was born and raised as the youngest of ten children. His parents, Mary and Hamp Collier, have gone home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith that continues to guide him. With four sisters and two brothers residing in Hammond, alongside siblings scattered throughout Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia, Rev. Collier understands the significance of family and community in our spiritual journeys.

“A Journey of Faith”
At the tender age of 13, Rev. Collier accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hammond. Under the nurturing guidance of Pastor Matthew Williams, his early commitment to faith blossomed. His journey deepened as he joined the Independent Methodist Church, where he was baptized by Reverend Samuel D. Williams Jr. and began a lifelong dedication to the ministry of the Gospel. His active involvement in the choir and various youth programs laid a strong foundation for his calling.

“A Calling Answered”
In May 1998, Rev. Collier answered the divine call to preach, delivering his inaugural sermon at Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under Pastor James L. Brewer Sr. His faithful service as Assistant Minister included roles as Youth Minister and a dynamic Sunday School teacher, advocating for spiritual growth in the lives of young people.

“Serving the Community”
Rev. Collier is passionate about community service, dedicating countless hours to mentoring and outreach. His contributions include volunteering with Tulsa Public Schools through the "Going To Bat For Tulsa Kids" program and serving as a mentor at Pershing Alternative School for three years. He also offered his time and support to the Oklahoma Military Department as a "Youth Tracker."

“Education and Growth”
In pursuit of a deeper understanding of the Word of God, Rev. Collier was a student at both The Oklahoma School of Religion and Oklahoma Baptist University, working towards completing his Theology degrees. His commitment to expanding his knowledge is evident through his participation in the "Signs and Wonders" workshop at Liberty Outreach and involvement in the Oklahoma Prison Ministry.
Rev. Collier served with distinction as President of the Minister’s Conference of the Creek District Baptist Association for four years and was the esteemed pastor of Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church for another four years. For the past 18 years, he has joyfully led the congregation at First Baptist Mohawk Church, blending humility with passionate leadership.

“A Life of Integrity and Love”
As a pastor, Rev. Collier embodies the belief that the greatest testimony to leading others to Christ is through the life we live daily. Grounded in the truth of James 1:22,
"But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves," he encourages believers to actively live out their faith.
Rev. Collier’s favorite saying, "I love you, but God loves you more," In Reverend Collier’s journey, we witness the grace of God at work—a life dedicated to serving, loving, and uplifting others in Christ’s name.
